There were 1,500 exhibition booths with international standards wet up in the last fair and 687 companies have attended the exhibition. 50,967 professionals attended the fair, of whom outbound professional visitors reached 3,112. Sales volume of the last fair mounted to 1.36 billion RMB, of which the volume of foreign trade reached 736 million RMB.

   Yiwu, A City Built on Market
Located in the center of Zhejiang Province, Yiwu covers an area of 1,105 square kilometers, with a total population of 1.6 million, among which 1 million are non- local residents. In terms of urban comprehensive development level and competitiveness, Yiwu ranks 12th among the top 100 counties of the country and the first place among the country- level cities of Zhejiang Province respectively.
Yiwu is vividly compared to a city built on the market. In 1982, Yiwu took the lead in setting up the commodities wholesale market. For more than 20 years, Yiwu has been insisting the development strategy of ¡°building the city on commerce¡±. Since 1991, the trade volume ranks the top for 14 successive years; Yiwu thereby becomes the celebrated commercial city on the globe. It was honored to be Most Favorite City in China in 2004, ranking No. 10 in the list of domestic cities and No. 1 in country- level cities . Beside Yiwu is the first country county- level city that issues visas and residence permit to foreigners.
Covering a total business area of 2.6 million square with 58,000 booths and 200,000 business people, Yiwu market gathers 100,000 kinds of goods in 1,900 categories. At present, foreign companies have set up 615 business organizations in Yiwu, Commodities in the market have been export to over 212 countries and regions. Annual export reaches 400,000 standard containers. Over 8,000 foreign business people are residing in Yiwu.
